Role Overview

This Payroll Assistant will be reporting into the Payroll Manager and will provide support with the payroll run. This is a key role in the team specialising in the areas of employment conditions and entitlements; payroll; superannuation administration; payroll balancing and accounts in accordance with company policies and guidelines.

This role will see you responsible for compliance with award legislation, processing workers compensation and streamlining procedures. In addition to this, your role will see you setting up new starters with varying award rates and calculating termination payments. Your organisational skills and keen eye for detail will see you make this role your own.

Responsibilities

  • Processing end to end payroll on a fortnightly basis
  • Assist and support the Payroll Team with other duties where required.
  • Provide accurate, compliant, efficient, and timely payroll services across Australia and New Zealand
  • Ensures all employee master file data within the database is maintained in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensures the accurate processing of staff appointments, transfer, promotions, terminations, payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Assists with the reconciliation and payment of Superannuation, PAYG, Payroll tax, Workers Compensation in line with federal and state legislation to ensure the organisation meets it’s required obligations.
  • Assists in the preparation of correspondence, payroll reports and statistics as required.
  • Liaise with staff on payroll related inquiries and assisting in resolving issues relating to payroll production.
  • Provide support to all internal and external audits related to payroll.
  • Assist in the implementation of changes required within the business to ensure the business is compliant with new legislation.

Candidate Profile

You will have proven, stable experience processing payroll and are eager to learn and develop your skills. You will feel comfortable with the elements of payroll processing and present with immaculate attention to detail.

Your outstanding communication skills on both a verbal and written level will see you engage stakeholders across the business and provide exceptional customer service in all you do.
