Finance Manager – $130k + Super

Location: Adelaide (hybrid working options)

Salary: $130k + Super

Listed and a market share leader, this manufacturing, engineering and services giant is a major player in its field and is an organisation that is known to all. Due to an internal move, this Divisional Finance Manager position has become available and would require a sharp thinking and motivated Finance professional to lead the way. This organisation supplies the resources infrastructure, mining, construction space with products and services and has been recognised as an employer of choice in Australia. The Finance Manager is responsible for monitoring, coordinating and controlling all financial aspects of the business unit while providing analysis of financial information for business decision making.

The Job

  • Manage month end requirements for the business unit,
  • Facilitate and co-ordinate the preparation of monthly forecasts, causal analysis and other group reporting requirements;
  • Facilitate and co-ordinate the preparation of annual budgets, including input into 5-year strategic plan;
  • Monitor project profitability and produce project costing, cost variance analysis and reporting.
  • Review the project portfolio and produce work-in-progress reports with variance analysis and commentary.
  • Prepare business performance and accounting reports as required;
  • Prepare statutory returns including indirect taxes, inputs for income tax and financial audits as required.
  • Ensure compliance with company accounting standards and all other legal and statutory obligations, together with those required by Corporate;
  • Analyse accounts and investigate variances as required;
  • Review, investigate and recommend changes to accounting systems to ensure the most accurate and efficient functionality;
  • Investigate all opportunities to remove unnecessary costs and improve profitability
  • Finalise sales results and ensure correct revenue recognition.
  • Prepare project and business unit budgets.
  • Coordinate month end close and produce all monthly management reports.
  • Approval of balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations and adjusting journals.
  • Maintain current and forecasted Cash Flow data when compared to the projected Cash Flow for each project;
  • Generate accounting reports at the end of the project;

Candidate Profile

You are currently CA or CPA qualified with broad experience across financial, management and project accounting. You will be comfortable working in a large listed global company while having a strong focus on your divisions performance. Exposure to a manufacturing, engineering or project environment and a proven ability to business partner these stakeholders will be viewed favourably (not essential). Your verbal and written communication skills are one of your strengths and you feel confident leading a business unit from an accounting perspective.
