Role Overview
As the Accounts Receivable/Payable Officer, you will be reporting to the Cost Accounting Manager. You will be responsible for debtors and creditors management providing accounts receivable/payable transaction processing services and account reconciliation across the organisation.
This role is responsible for the accurate and detailed processing and the maintenance of accurate customer and supplier accounts.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all debtor and creditor accounts are reconciled monthly and delinquent, outstanding transactions are identified with a suitable action plan in place to resolve
- Ensure all documentation is received and entered into systems accurately and with appropriate detail and authorisation
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounts receivable and payable policies and procedures
- Provide regular reports to internal stakeholders and or customers/suppliers
- Maintaining the integrity of the billing and payables systems
- Generating invoices and account statements
- Understanding of FX transactions including processing and reconciling invoices/payments from offshore customers or suppliers
- Managing proof of delivery (POD) dockets
- Managing customer disputes and reconciling disputed sales with PODs
- Vendor statement reconciliation monthly
- Credit checks for new/change customers
- Credit application completion for new/change suppliers
- Aged AR/AP reporting
- Collections of outstanding customer accounts
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate for this role has proven financial skills and experience with focus on attention to detail and accuracy. You possess high level customer-service skills combined with well-developed written and verbal communication skills. Your Intermediate Excel capability and experience with processing general journals will be highly regarded.
